How does this organization make a difference?

Overview

Self-reported by organization

The Library depends primarily on public tax revenue from the state and county for its operations, as well as private contributions and foundation grants. The limited public funds available for libraries must be spread over a constantly growing statewide demand. As communities around us continue to grow rapidly in population, our population remains at the same level; thus our
percentage of the state funding will steadily continue to drop, as population is a key factor in the funding formula.
The Foundation was established to give the Library a solid base of stable
revenue to perpetuate this institution well into the future. By gathering
private contributions into a larger investment specifically and exclusively dedicated to the Library, patrons can take an active part in shaping the future for the
Library.
