Mission Statement

Grays Armory Museum strives to share in its historical and cultural legacy with the public. Beyond stewardship of the building and conservation of artifacts, the museum strives to preserve the traditions and the rich heritage of those who serve their country and their community. The museum actively fulfills this objective by preserving, interpreting and presenting the military history of the United States, the State of Ohio, and Greater Cleveland. The Grays Armory museum is committed to serving all persons and organizations interested in our military past, present and future. The museum will continue to offer a variety of programs that serve the needs of students, veterans, historians and the public.

Community Outreach - Grays Armory Museum is a nexus for several non-profit organizations and historical groups. The civil air Patrol's Phoenix Squadron (a student cadet program) regularly holds classes and trains in the drill hall. In addition, the museum houses the offices and provides meeting spaces for the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial Society and the Cleveland Police Pipes and Drums Corps. Cleveland Grays Armory Museum is also the home of the Western Reserve Theatre Organ Society which maintains the museum's historic Mighty Wurlitzer on site. Other non-profit organizations periodically use the facility ~ among these are The soldiers and Sailors Monument Support Group, the 7th Ohio Volunteer Infantry (a Civil War reenactors group), the Sons of Union Veterans and the Western Front Society.
