Charting Impact

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

  1. What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
    * Add Arts Programs
    * Create additional language learning opportunities
    * Create programs that reach beyond Purdue's campus and help the Greater Lafayette community and International Community interact with each other.
  2. What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
    * Find volunteer teachers to lead art workshops
    * Create a gallery space for international artists to display their work
    * Expand the number and type of language classes and conversation opportunities
    * Create an online forum space for people to connect with each other
    * Implement Global Culture Festival to create fun, informative cultural exchange opportunities
  3. What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
    The International Center is working to recruit volunteers. We have found teachers for art classes, and a few artists who want to display their work. Our recent building renovations have created an idea space for a gallery display. We are talking with a number of potential participants and sponsors for the upcoming Global Culture Festivals we hope to lunch in Fall, 2014.
  4. How will they know if they are making progress?
    We have seen a clear need for these areas in the community that we serve. We will be able to meet this need with the new programs that we are starting.
  5. What have and haven't they accomplished so far?
    We have already recruited our first artist to create a gallery display this fall.
    We have already recruited at least one art teacher for a Japanese woodcut printing class, and are working to recruit a Chinese calligraphy teacher.
