Mission Statement

The goals of the Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum are to bring together people who are interested in preserving, restoring and maintaining interest in railroading, railroad history and railroad items of the past and present. The organization would like to educate members/volunteers on restoration, repairs and maintenance of locomotives, railcars, railroad equipment, to promote, create, and maintain a railroad museum and display site, and to improve the cultural, scientific and educational values, aspects and effects of live as related to railroading.

Hoosier Valley Railroad Museum hosts many youth groups throughout the year who visit the railroad museum to take a ride on vintage railroad rolling stock and to hear about the history and workings of the railroads. Museum volunteers lead youth groups and visitors on guided tours through the railroad museum to explain, educate and answer questions.
