Mission Statement

Caring Arts Foundation, formerly the Strike at Cancer Foundation, founded in 1998, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emotional support to cancer patients and their families in the Chicago area. We facilitate and encourage expression through music, fine art, journaling, photography and other creative disciplines.

Program 1

Healing Arts: pairs professional artists from the community with cancer patient centers to provide emotional healing through a variety of artistic disciplines, including painting, music, scrapbooking, journaling and crafts. Through our Healing Arts program we also sponsor quarterly "dress up photo" sessions for children with cancer at area childrens' hospitals, providing a selection of professional photos at no cost to the parents. Healing Journals: Distribution of free writing/medical journals to cancer patients in Chicagoland area Partnerships: Partner with organizations in Chicagoland community to provide a variety of services & support (TLC Day Camp for Children with cancer; Gilda's Club, Chicago; Children's Memorial Hospital; University of Chicago Hospitals, Rush University Hospital, Loyola University Hospital and others)
