Mission Statement

Blessing the Children International is a non-profit organization with a passion for ministering to the physical, mental, social, and spiritual needs of orphans and widows in Ethiopia. In a country where the average person lives on less than a dollar a day, everyone is poor. Most at-risk are the children who lose their parents and do not have friends or relatives to take them in. With almost no social services provided by the government, orphans in Ethiopia have little hope for survival. These children are truly the poorest of the poor.

Program 1

Adana Children Center

At Blessing the Children International , we're committed to helping kids; a ministry we take very seriously. Adana means ‘rescue’ in Amharic, the national language of Ethiopia. Many orphaned children who have lost their parents, have no one to care for them. Their situation becomes hopeless and their chance of survival slim. Through the sponsorship of someone like you, together we can rescue these children.

The Adana Children Center is located in Debre Zeyit (population 130,000), Ethiopia, just 45 minutes from Addis Ababa, the nation’s capital.

The Adana Children Center is a hub of activity in the community.  During school hours, most of the compound is dedicated to the primary education of children.  While there is limited space during the day for adult education and vocational training, in the afternoons and evenings the entire compound is available for community service programs, focusing on the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of both children and adults in the community.

American Academy of Excellence

The American Academy of Excellence offers impoverished children an exceptional education in grades kindergarten through 12th grade.  Public schools in Ethiopia provide a substandard level of education, and there is no room in the private schools.
