Waupaca Historical Society

The mission of the Waupaca Historical Society is to preserve the history of the Waupaca area and to share that history with others through the preservation of three historic buildings, the collecting of historic documents, books, maps, and artifacts, by hosting special programs and exhibits, and by giving special tours of our facilities to school children, special groups, and the general public.

Hutchinson House Museum

The Hutchinson House Museum is a family-friendly summer destination.  Located in South Park, on the south end of Main Street in Waupaca, the historic Hutchinson House gives visitors a peek at life during the Victorian Era.  The museum offers guided tours and admission is free.  The museum is open on Saturdays, Sundays, and Summer Holidays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.  For more information visit www.waupacahistory.org.

Holly History & Genealogy Center

The Holly History & Genealogy Center is located at 321 S. Main Street in Waupaca.  The Holly Center serves as a depository for local history books, documents, photographs, and family histories.  The Center is open to the public on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from noon until 3 with special summer hours on Wed. and Fr. afternoons from noon until 4 and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon.

Waupaca Railroad Depot

The Waupaca Railroad Depot building is currently being restored by the Waupaca Historical Society.  The depot, built in the early 1900's, is architecturally significant with three fireplaces, a ticket office, baggage room, men's smoking room, ladies lounge, and a general waiting area.  The Waupaca Depot is open to the public each year on the third Saturday in June.  For more information visit our website at www.waupacahistory.org.
