Rosebuds' mission is to publish the very best contemporary writing (and art) in America. We have an educational component to infuse contemporary American writing into school curriculum. As well, we sponsor four national literary awards, designed to promote and foster the arts in America.

Rosebud operates ENTIRELY on a staff of unpaid volunteers who have remained committed to the mission since Rosebud's inception. All revenues from subscriptions, sales, and donations go to pay author honorariums, printing and distribution of the magazine.
