What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Program 1

The Schuetzenpark Gilde has undertaken a variety of projects to preserve the remnants of Schuetzen Park. Primarily, we have restored the Park's Street Car Halle, or waiting pavillion. This is the only remaining original Park structure. We have constructed a new walking path to the pavillion, improved the Park's nature trails, planted food producing bushes and trees for the Park's wildlife. Annually, we present a cultural restrospective on the Park's original grounds. We have presented concerts, German Shepherd Dog shows, Volksmarches and the like. In the spring of 2001, we completed a project to create an outdoor festival grounds (Festplatz) as a permanent place to hold these event. Currently, the site is being used as an outdoor educational site for topics related to conservation of the natural environment.
