Mission Statement

MMEP collaborates with the private sector, communities of color, and 12 institutions including public and private elementary and secondary schools and postsecondary systems in order to provide resources and programs for students of color. MMEP, founded in 1987, grew out of a need for creating a network of support for students of color that would ensure better recruitment and retention of diverse populations in higher educational institutions. MMEP advocates on behalf of communities of color and aims to reduce the school drop out rate of diverse populations, to educate institutions about diverse cultures, and prepare students of color for Minnesota's workforce.

Our State of Students of Color Report is a report that documents data and information collected on what's happening today with students of color in the educational system throughout Minnesota. The Summer Enrichment Guide contains details, descriptions, and contact information for over 70 summer programs throughout Minnesota for students k-12 including a few programs for adults.
