Mission Statement

The primary mission of Central Lakes Search and Rescue is to provide search and rescue capabilities to federal, state, county and local government agencies 24 hours a day in order to locate missing persons in the wilderness, water and urban environments. These services are provided free of charge and may include the recovery of lost person(s) or items during a wilderness, water, disaster or urban search request. CLSAR is part of a network of professional volunteers. Response to a request may include members from other search and rescue units associated with CLSAR. In support of the primary mission CLSAR will provide education, information and training to the general public on the subjects of canine handling, wilderness topics and outdoor safety. CLSAR will assist in and promote the cooperation and professionalism of all members of the search and rescue community.
