The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees which coordinate fundraising activities and grant applications. Each year in August, the Board will review all applications received and make final decisions on whom to award the Rainbow Unity Memorial Scholarship(s). The Foundation will award at least one $1000 educational scholarship each year, which can be used to for any expense(s) directly related toward the students continued education. The Rainbow Unity Foundation works solely for the purposes of raising monies to award to Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender students (of any age) who can provide proof that they have graduated from an Iowa High School and will self identify as GLBT The Foundation also strives to help to support various other 501c3 and 501c4 non profit organization which compliment our mission statement. BIO

Troy Haasis, President and Founder, has been active in local and statewide fundraising for over 13 years. Serving as Emperor of the Imperial Court of Iowa and helping raise a Court record of $35,000 lead him to realize that the youth of Iowa, particularly the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender youth have no exclusively source to reach out to for educational opportunities. Having struggled through earlier years of secondary education, Mr. Haasis understands the need for scholarships and has devoted his efforts to increasing this avenue for students across Iowa.
