Horse retraining and rehoming
Northstar Horse Rescue Inc. is committed to helping horses find new vocations. We retrain our horses so that they can be more appropriately rehomed and become a willing partner for pleasure and sport. Through its website and facebook page, Northstar Horse Rescue Inc. lists and networks available retrained horses.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
In the coming year, we would like to develop a new program, in addition to rescuing and rehabbing horses in need: We would like to create a fund to match horses that could compete with young equestrians who would like to compete, but may not be able to afford a horse. Several of the horses that we have trained have the potential to be competitors, and their market value would be significant, however, we do not want to simply sell horses, because we need to protect our horse's future. Therefore, we would like to develop a fund that would cover the leasing and care costs of a competitive horse for a young equestrian who could not otherwise afford a horse.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We have started the process of reaching out to the hunter-jumper/showing community, and to other educational scholarship programs for young equestrians.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have the capability to provide the training of the horses and the oversight and administration of the program. We have the ability to take horses off the track and retrain them to be safe in the recreational or competitive world.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have accomplished having prospective horses who would qualify for this program. We need to establish the sponsorship funding for the horses, and we need to identify an application process for the prospective riders. We also need to network and gain support from the equestrian community at large.
