Mission Statement

The MISSION of the Constitution Island Association

To provide a rewarding educational and recreational experience for the public and the United States Military Academy community by the commemoration and preservation of the historic, literary, legendary, and artistic traditions and the ecological treasure that is represented by Constitution Island and the Hudson River Valley

The story of Constitution Island is a story of the people who lived on the island: the native Americans, Revolutionary War soldiers, Warner family, and servants.

The site's role in the American Revolutionary War, the Warners' contribution to American culture, and the lives of the people who lived on the island form the core of all programs developed by the Association.

Constitution Island is worthy of national attention and is a significant part of Hudson Valley history. The Constitution Island Association provides a unique educational and recreational experience for both adults and children who visit the island. Escorted tours of the Warner House and Revolutionary War ruins by volunteer docents arouse interest in and bring to life the site's historic significance.

The Constitution Island Association and the United States Military Academy work closely and harmoniously to preserve the island's historical character and the natural environment.

Saturday Special Events

Constitution Island is a 300 acre island in the center of the Hudson Highlands. It is one of the most beautiful sights in the Hudson Valley. In an effort to stimulate visitation our Association plan special events to be held on the last Saturday of every summer month. These events, while containing many special programs and educational opportunities, are presented at the same price, or lower, than regular tours.
