Program 1

Team Delaware, is a partnership between two of Delaware?s premier fast pitch organizations, the Delaware Destroyers and Delaware Cobras. The organization now has seven teams (104 participants) ranging in age from U10 to U18. Young women are selected through a try-out process and, upon selection, must sign a commitment letter promising to uphold the values of the organization, namely to: o Respect yourself, your team mates, coaches, officials and your opponents o Education, hard work and perseverance are the keys to success o Always give your best effort in all that you do; in the classroom and on the field o Be the best person you can be This comprehensive program for the young female student athlete has garnered impressive results. On the field, Team Delaware (as Destroyers and Cobras), has won more than 300 games in three years; placed 9th and 13th respectively, in the Nation in 2005 and 12th and 16th in 2006; finished as the number one team in the Delaware in 2004, 2005 and 2006; won 20 tournament titles; has had 2 players named as finalists for the National Player of the Year honors in 2004 and 2005 with one receiving National Co-Player of the Year. More impressively, our girls have excelled in the classroom, boasting a solid A minus average for all age groups. Many of our high-school aged players have 4.0+ GPAs. Our mission is to nurture and empower young women through competitive sport, to promote healthy body image and self-confidence, and to help the girls achieve their ambitions.
