Program 1

Engaged Grantmaking

SVP maintains a portfolio of investees that we support with a combination of grants and skill-based volunteering. SVP provides a range of in-kind assistance based on the nonprofits’ priorities, including strategic planning, marketing, communications, executive coaching, leadership development, finance, and fundraising. In 2014, over 32 Partners and other volunteers contributed approximately 500 hours of investee-related work.

Social Innovation Fast Pitch

In the Social Innovation Fast Pitch program, 20 high-potential, high-impact nonprofits in L.A. County are selected to receive two months of intensive training and coaching in order to “tell their story” in a powerful 3-minute pitch. The program culminates in a high-energy competition event, where ten finalists make their pitch to an audience of hundreds of community members and have the opportunity to win cash and in-kind awards.
