Mission Statement

Ipu Lani's mission is to revitalize and perpetuate Hawaii's ipu culture. We explore the wide variety of uses, both functional as well as artistic, along with the farming and propagation of the ipu in Hawaii. We educate the public regarding the historic uses of the ipu, a heritage plant. The primary focus is Native Hawaiian advancement through education in the Hawaiian Charter school system. We will focus on the family and family enrichment.

Program 1

Our annual festival will take place in Jan. 2009, we are planning for the event and will raise funds through classes and workshops, art sales, community donations and other fundraising projects. The Outrigger Hotel Keauhou is hosting the festival. (Jan 16,17,18, 2009) A major portion of Ipu Lani's needs will be met through farm lease options which we hope will be made available for the Ipu.
