Mission Statement

Hannah More School operates under the principle that all children can learn. Our students have been identified as emotionally disabled, autistic, learning disabled or whose behaviors have interfered with their ability to be successful in public school. Students are referred by their local school systems to Hannah More and travel from throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan Region to either our Reisterstown campus, or our Type II Schools located in Anne ArundelĀ and Carroll Counties. Hannah More School combines intensive academic, vocational and therapeutic programs to help our students develop the skills necessary to reach their greatest potential. Each student has a team of professionals working with him/her and the parents/guardians to schedule the appropriate academic and clinical programs for each student. Hannah More School was founded in 1978 on the site of the former Hannah More Academy, a private girls' boarding school. A volunteer Board of Directors works closely with the School's administration to guide the school.
