Claude Moore Physician Leadership Institute -- Housed at the MSV Foundation, this leadership development program is a participatory continuing education experience that provides up to 20 physicians a year with formal, practical leadership training. TO GOAL: Together Obtaining Guidelines Optimization, Adherence, and Lifestyles -- A groundbreaking, physician-driven program that allows family practice physicians to lead cardiovascular quality improvement within their own practices. DOC RxRelief -- In December, 2006 the MSV Foundation initiated this medication assistance program for private practice patients without prescription insurance coverage. As of November 2007, 129 physicians at 41 clinical sites were participating in the program and more than $220,000 in free medications have been requested on behalf of eligible patients. Antibiotic Resistance Awareness Campaign -- Since 2003, the MSV Foundation, in partnership with Virginia?s physicians, public health departments and educators, has distributed nearly 400,000 educational tools to guide patients and consumers about the proper use of antibiotics. Rx Partnership -- This public-private partnership has increased access to free prescription medications for Virginia?s uninsured. Since 2004, Rx Partnership has distributed more than $13 million in medications (through August 2007) to credentialed free clinics and community health centers. Medical Student Small Grants -- Each year, the MSV Foundation provides grant funds to Virginia?s medical students to assist them in their efforts to improve the health of their communities. Salute to Service Awards These annual awards honor outstanding members of Virginia?s medical community for their efforts to improve the health status of vulnerable patients locally and abroad.
