Interfaith Action Communities

  • Lanham, MD

Mission Statement

In the beginning, we the member congregations of IAC, came together because we were unwilling to be spectators to what was going on in our communities: we wanted to be participants. Many good things were happening in Prince George's County, but some people were not sharing in the good life that was being formed here. Moreover, behind the decisions of our public officials, there lay a set of values that were different from the values we shared in, as a result of our faith experience. In order to change this set of values, we wanted a place at the table where public policy is determined, in order to lay our own agenda on the table.
