College Bound offers afterschool mentoring and tutoring, SAT preparatory assistance, scholarship, and writing and financial assistance workshops. In additon, College Bound host college tours, college and career fairs.

Principal Officer

Mr. Kenneth Ward

BIO

Mr. Ward is a native North Carolinian. He was born in Halifax County; home of the Halifax Resolves, which is the precursor of the Declaration of Independence. After graduating as valedictorian of his senior class at Enfield High, he matriculated at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill on a Pogue Scholarshiamongst these are Order of The Bell Tower, Big Buddy Program (Campus Y), Mic-Man, Dorm Lt. Governor and the Black Student Movement. While at UNC, he was also initiated into the Theta Omicron Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Incorporated.
 

After relocating to Washington DC, Mr. Ward obtained a Master's Degree in Education from Trinity College and has worked at the Library of Congress, Charles Young (5th Grade), Harriet Tubman (Summer School Principal), and Paul Public Charter School. He also founded the Young Ambassadors. The Young Ambassadors is a male-mentoring program where participants study myriad cultures and travel annually to Africa. They have visited Senegal for their inaugural trip and have travelled to Ghana for the last 8 years. He has also served as the site coordinator for College Bound, Inc. at the Gonzaga and Beacon House sites for over 10 years before being selected as the Executive Director of College Bound.

 

Mr. Ward has participated in numerous international programs: International Foundation for Education and Self-Help- Addis Abba, Ethiopia. Teacher Exchange Program - DC-Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia. Fulbright Memorial Scholar - Tokyo and Imabari City, Japan.
