Mission Statement

Friends of Tanzania continues the involvement of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, Teachers for East Africa, other volunteers and visitors to Tanzania by providing information about Tanzania through our semi-annual newsletter and  website. We raise funds for projects in Tanzania that support all levels of education, good health, adequate and clean water, productive agriculture, micro-finance and self-sufficiency with a special emphasis on women and children.

Program 1

We send financial aid to about 16 Tanzanian projects each year with grants ranging from $500 to $8,000. All must help alleviate health problems such as HIV-AIDS, provide care for orphans, improve educational opportunities, improve the environment, or help increase income for improved family sustainability.
