Mission Statement

Formed in 1997 as a result of a merger between Support Centers of America and Nonprofit Management Association in 1997, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management is the leading national knowledge community and support association for funders, consultants, academics, pracademics, government employees, nonprofit leaders and other professionals focused on understanding and developing strategies to increase the capacity of nonprofit organizations and other actors working toward sustainable positive social change and community enrichment.

Annual National Conference

The Alliance for Nonprofit Management is honored to host an annual conference bringing together capacity building professionals from all sectors and areas of expertise.

The 2013 Alliance Conference brought nearly 300 capacity building professionals together over the course of three days. In over 20 different session and special roundtables, funders, consultants, researchers and nonprofit leaders came together to examine the latest research, learn from each other about cutting edge practices and build out the network of those committed to increasing the sector’s capacity to achieve positive social change.

Member Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups (AGs) are an integral part of the Alliance’s commitment to igniting and accelerating the effectiveness and efficiency of individuals and organizations helping nonprofits achieve positive social change. AGs are groups of Alliance members that self-organize around a specified interest or identity. The primary purpose of AGs is to advance the nonprofit capacity building field through innovative ideas, practices, models, research and/or publications. AGs additionally provide a space for Alliance members with similar interests to network with each other, exchange ideas, and develop their skills.

Resource Library

The Alliance provides access to a comprehensive and collaborative Resource Library to keep members within reach of the of the latest research, studies, and publications with a focus on nonprofit capacity building. The Resource Library also gives members an opportunity to share their own resources and documents, collect pertinent research, and come into contact with a broad network of contemporary researchers and practitioners .

BIO

Ana LaDou is a fixer, efficiency expert, change agent and leadership consultant to boards and executives in transition. Her expertise includes working with fast-growing or newly-starting organizations, and those in turn-around or crisis due to sudden shifts in funding. She has worked on projects with local, national and international reach where her clear, creative approach and ability to make order out of chaos result in innovative solutions for her clients. Her ability to gain trust, build consensus and execute her vision guides leaders and boards (and the companies they lead) through swift, successful transitions.
