Program 1

Educational Outreach

HCEF sponsors conferences and symposia in North America and in Palestine through its Holy Land Christian Support Network (HCSN).  HCEF also sponsors Holy Land Days in churches during which a church welcomes a priest or minister to connect the day's readings with the lived experience of Holy Land Christians.  It is a comprehensive educational and spiritual experience.

Program 3

Holy Land Gifts - Support for Christian Artisans

Holy Land Gifts provides an ongoing source of support for the Christian artisans who engage in the centuries-old tradition of carving olive wood, working with mother-of-pearl, and creating ceramics.  HCEF's crafts come from small family-run businesses that generally employ only a few family members.  This income is the families' most significant means of survival and ensures that the tradition will be passed down through the next generations.

Program 4

Living Stones Pilgrimage

The HCEF Living Stones Pilgrimage Program brings Christians to the Holy Land to live out an extraordinary experience.  These journeys are full of spiritual enrichment, grace, and excitement - they are experiences that truly change the way people see the world.  The pilgrims get to know the Holy Land Christians (the Living Stones) by sharing their daily lives, culture, obstacles, and faith.  Meeting and connecting with the Living Stones of the Holy Land can educate pastors and the faithful about their Mother Church in a personal way.  All pilgrimages are coordinated with the local churches. Pilgrimages also bring much-needed economic support to the Palestinian Christians who operate the service aspects of the pilgrimage.

Program 5

Job Creation and Economic Development

The Holy Land Christian Ecumenical Foundation (HCEF) has developed a program to provide suitable housing for needy Christian families in the Holy Land, through the renovation of existing, but substandard, homes. This effort provides employment for hard-pressed Christian craftsmen and laborers in the rehabilitation of the homes of impoverished Christian families.  HCEF also undertakes similar projects for community or church centers and has developed an Ecumenical Center for Research and Development in Bethlehem which offers conference space and training sessions for local Christian leaders and groups.

Funding Needs

HCEF can most help the Holy Land Christians when people participate through the programs by sponsoring children in the schools, coming on pilgrimages, and purchasing Holy Gifts made by Christian artisans.  General donations can also be made that are used to maintain all of the programs and the overhead that each one incurs.
