STATEMENT FROM THE Principal Officer

"We have collaborated to establish a 10 site state-recognized heritage trail with significant strategic partners, raise hundreds of thousands of dollars from various sources, streamline the finances, expandoperational capacity, organize an education advisory council, design lesson plans and host numerous school groups. The Foundation has conducted frequent special events from an annual illumination to civil war encampments, earned media across the region, added interpretative elements at the kiosk andraised our profile with well positioned highway signage. While I am omitting much, I wanted to remind you of all that has been accomplished. As the summer closed, we embarked on several new missions including finalizing the acquisition of the Patrick Henry Birthplace, dedicating our new building, writing a strategic plan and launching our 2010 Annual Fund campaign for the next phase of the Foundation's work."
