SIDCO works in close association with local, state and Federal entities including the North Carolina Underwater Archaeology Unit, the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the National Park Service, the Graveyard of the Atlantic museum and others, to preserve the gigantic amount of submerged cultural resources lying off the North Carolina coast. Our work includes the Blackbeard's Final Prize; the Martinique Sugar Ship project, the identification of the shipwreck numbered 0003OKI, or the "Ghostship" wreck, and the Beach Wreck Survey on the NC Outer Banks from Beaufort Inlet to Hatteras Inlet, as well as assisting on the Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge shipwreck project, when possible.
