Mission Statement

We are the only Jewish organization in North Carolina that focuses on Jewish culture and history. We function both as an art museum and gallery and the equivalent of a Jewish Historical Society. We are now creating the only authoritative history of the Jewish presence in NC. This research will form the basis for a documentary film, an educational video for the public schools, a museum exhibit to be shown at all the state's major historical museums, and a book to be published by the University of North Carolina Press.

Our current heritage program, Down Home: Jewish Life in North Carolina, will help to build bridges of understanding and illustrate the importance of diversity in an increasingly multi-cultural society.
