Mission Statement

The Nickelby Project's mission is to deliver a little hope and a smile to hospitalized children. As our foundation grows and the needs of the children grows so will our project. Our goal is to provide a gift bag to help ease the worries and fears of children with a chronic or life threatening illness, provide hospital support and educational support.

The Gift Bag Project The Gift Bag Project caters to Children going through treatments in the hospital. Gift Bag program is a year-round project at Nickelby. We accept the following items as donations under the Gift Bag program: Gift Cards Coloring Books Crayons Story Books Video Tapes CDs and CD Players DVD player Journals Scrap books Phone cards - Domestic and International New and Unused Toys. one time use cameras blankets or quilts (would love your sewing or quilting group to help) gift bags decorative pillowcases Hospital Support - Monetary Donations We take monetary donations to help purchase items for hospitals. The patients and their families use the following items frequently since they spend so much of their time in the hospital during the treatment period. (Examples of items purchased are: computers, TV, VCR and VCR tapes, DVDs, etc.) Scholarship Program We currently offer 2 types of scholarship programs: Childhood Cancer Survivor: This scholarship is designed for childhood cancer survivor going to college or secondary school in any field of study. Adult Scholarship: This scholarship is designed for adults who plan to go into a Pediatric Oncology field of study. Please contact us if you are interested in any of these schorlaships or if you are interested in sponsoring a personalized memorial or honorary college scholorship Buddy Program This program is designed to accept donations for Movie Passes Amusement Park Tickets Bowling Tickets Lazer Tags Access Cards Restaurant gift certificates Other activities that could make a child smile!
