We currently operate The Freechild Project, focused on youth engagement in social change, and SoundOut, focused on student voice in schools. In the last 5 years Freechild has provided resources and training to more than 40,000 youth and adults across the U.S. and around the world. SoundOut currently supports student voice initiatives in more than 50 K-12 schools across the U.S.

BIO

Adam Fletcher is the founder and Executive Director of CommonAction. After more than 12 years working with young people in community organizations and schools across the US, Adam created The Freechild Project to promote youth engagement in social change in 2001. In 2003 he created SoundOut to promote student engagement in schools. He is the author of a dozen publications about youth engagement, meaningful student involvement, and social change.
