Mission Statement

Florida and the Caribbean Islands have daunting global warming and
energy security vulnerabilities. We assist stakeholder groups to understand the
trends, the conditions, the barriers and solutions to sustainable energy
development and work toward solutions through stakeholder-driven partnerships.
We also support academic research into the economic and environmental
challenges facing Florida
water resources for both human and ecosystem use.

Communicating Energy Sustainability in the Bahamas is an evolving program in development

BIO

Robert Farmer, President of Third Planet, served on the Energy Advisory Committee of the Governor's Commission for a Sustainable South Florida (1996-97) and more recently was a consultant to Florida's Energy Future, a report for the Florida Department of Environmental protection (2003). He is an engaging public speaker, energy planning engineer, and experienced engine sales executive. He was educated as a planning engineer by Bristol-Siddeley Engines/Rolls-Royce Gas Turbines Ltd. in the United Kingdom. Among many activities he is a member of the Climate and Energy Specialist Group of the World Conservation Union's (IUCN) Commission on Environmental Law (CEL) and a member of the Board of the Tallahassee-based Legal Environmental Assistance Foundation (LEAF)
