Mission Statement

Founded in 2006, the Hancock Family Foundation gives grants and donations to non-profit organizations that provide the basic necessities (including food, shelter, clothing, medication, adult education, job training and educational materials) to low income children and families. The Foundation's goal is to address these areas of interest and to strengthen the effectiveness and capacity of nonprofit organizations that are currently doing this work. In 2007, the Foundation began its College Scholarship Program for Kansas City area public school graduating seniors. It is our goal to allow students who would otherwise not be able to afford a college education the opportunity to attend any in-state public college, community college or trade school.

Program 1

Former grantees include women and children's shelters, food banks and pantries, public schools, adult education centers, neighborhood charity organizations, community centers and veterans support organizations. The HFF College Scholarship Program is for Kansas City area public school graduating seniors (with a demonstrated financial need) interested in attending any in-state public college, community college or approved trade school. These should be promising students who would otherwise not be able to afford a college education, but have the desire and potential to better themselves.
