At the Department, he held the position of Chief of Staff with responsibility for the daily operations of the agency which included overseeing 400 employees and an annual operating budget of 24 million. He also served as the Congressional and State Legislative Liaison for the State Board of Education. At OCCC, Mr. Taylor is the Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and serves as the Executive Director of the OCCC Foundation. The Foundation was recently honored as the ""Outstanding Fundraising Education Organization"" in the State of Oklahoma. He also oversees marketing and public relations of the College, external funding projects and alumni relations. He holds a Master's Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Oklahoma and has served as President of the Bricktown Rotary Club. Outside of work, he enjoys community service projects and volunteering for his Rotary. He is an avid bluegrass music enthusiast and attends several music festivals as time allows. Lealon is a long time member of the Mayfair Church of Christ and member of the Cherokee Nation.

STATEMENT FROM THE Principal Officer

"With the fourth largest enrollment of any university or college in Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Community College provides one of the most affordable options for higher education in the state, yet many of our students (or potential students) face financial circumstances which, without scholarships, would not allow them the educational opportunity they seek. A recent study shows that within the first year after earning a degree or certificate, OCCC graduates earn more than graduates from the University of Oklahoma over the same time span. Our mission at the OCCC Foundation is to help provide opportunities for students who might not otherwise have a chance to reach their educational goals and go on to contribute in meaningful ways, economic and otherwise, to our community.
