The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation supports and encourages young individuals who wish to pursue careers as professional pilots, by providing flight scholarships to obtain private pilot certification.

Aviation Education & Awareness

The Aviation Education & Awareness program is two pronged.  We award scholarships to young adults who wish to become professional pilots by allowing them to obtain private pilot licensure.  In addition, we target identified disadvantaged school districts and provide free programs focusing on aviation as a career, hoping to improve the low percentage of minorities and women in the aviation profession.

The majority of our funding comes from individuals.  We are hopeful aerospace companies such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin will be our primary supporters.
