Mission Statement

Established in 1987 the Nurse Oncology Education Program has been providing quality cancer education to various health professionals, with our main focus on the generalist nurse. NOEP's vision is to reduce the burden of cancer in Texas by providing education to all nurses in cancer prevention, detection, treatment and survivorshiprevention-oriented, general wellness and illness care of individuals and families. Ideally, the health care team will be interdisciplinary, with shared decision-making authority, shared goals, and partnerships with clients

The Nurse Oncology Education Program (NOEP) is partially funded by the Texas Cancer Council (TCC), the state agency charged with reducing the burden and impact of cancer on Texans. NOEP is administered by the Texas Nurses Foundation and is associated with the Texas Nurses Association. NOEP is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing quality education to the generalist nurse. NOEP, the only initiative of its type in the nation, utilizes volunteers, nursing education and cancer care experts to provide a comprehensive and innovative approach to cancer nursing education.
