The Public Education & Business Coalition's programs include: Professional development initiatives designed to improve teaching and learning in reading, writing, information literacy, and mathematics at the elementary and middle school levels Front-line professional development in high school classrooms directed at linking classroom academics with workplace competencies and needs. Venture grants for teachers designed to encourage and reward innovation in literacy instruction and the use of technology in academic inquiry. Mentors programs for students highly at-risk of dropping out of school. Business/education partnerships which develop opportunities for meaningful involvement of the business community with students and educators. Initiatives promoting effective policies that support and sustain best practices in Colorado"s schools. Programs designed to engage the public in critical support for public education.
