Gill Children's Services

Gill Children's Services is a funding source of last resort that provides a safety net for Tarrant County, Texas children whose medical, dental, physical, social, psychological or educational needs have not been met by other community resources.

In 37 years, Gill Children’s Services is proud to report we have never turned a child away for assistance where we were the last resort. The number of children changes from year to year. The United Way established a phone system “211”, that families can call to locate services for their individual needs. This has assisted Gill in truly serving as a last resort to children in our community. With needs changing every year, Gill has stayed ahead of the game and spoken to area leaders to discover new gaps and provide those services in our area.

Gill establishes the needs in our community and community support of those needs. Once gaps are realized then Gill fills those gaps by working with treatment/service providers to receive the best possible pricing. As needs change, we know that children are receiving services and other areas will be addressed. Every child who is eligible for our services will receive our services.

ORGANIZATIONAL DEMOGRAPHICS

In order to support nonprofits and gain valuable insight for the sector, GuideStar worked with D5—a five-year initiative to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in philanthropy—in creating a questionnaire. This section is a voluntary questionnaire that empowers organizations to share information on the demographics of who works in and leads organizations. To protect the identity of individuals, we do not display sexual orientation or disability information for organizations with fewer than 15 staff. Any values displayed in this section are percentages of the total number of individuals in each category (e.g. 20% of all Board members for X organization are female).
