Retail Operations Employment
Goodwill-West Texas employs over 300 individuals from all walks of life, learning ability, and backgrounds. We area second-chance employer with over 60% of our employees having a documented disability or disadvantage.
Career Center
Strategically located to cover our territory, the Goodwill® Career Centers offer one-on-one training to help individuals in our communities reach their vocational goals and secure meaningful employment. The services are completely FREE and include:
One-on-one career counseling, identification assistance (*IDs, Drivers Licence, Birth Certificates), resume writing, interviewing skills, computer access and training, youth soft skills training and employment opportunities, job search assistance, job placement/retention.
Work Adjustment Training
Our Work Adjustment Training (WAT) program provides a one to three month training program designed for individuals with documented disabilities who have difficulty obtaining or maintaining employment. This referral based program is in partnership with Texas Workforce Solutions - Vocational Rehabilitation Services (TWS-VRS).
This program works to assist in developing realistic vocational goals, while teaching basic work skills needed to enter any occupation or skills training program. Emphasis is placed on building physical stamina, emotional tolerance and overall work behavior associated with entering /re-entering competitive employment or a supportive work environment.
GoodLife
Our employees receive on-the-job training and supportive services in order to adjust to Goodwill's donation process and become successful in the workplace. This program assists our employees in learning both life skills and leadership skills, setting them on a career advancement path. GoodLife is an internal program where Goodwill-West Texas employees can take the following trainings:
Basic digital skills, financial literacy, leadership skills, effective communication, and retirement planning. They can also receive computers on loan.
