Mission Statement

The Journey of Hope Grief Support Center provides age-appropriate groups for children, teen, young adults and their adult caregivers. The groups, which are offered twice a month, are preceded by a dinner provided by community groups. This unique organization has served 43 communities in 11 counties in the North Texas area.
Groups have been held continuously since 1998. Intake interviews are required for attendance to the group sessions.
The organization has been well supported by individuals, professional counseling providers, community organizations, schools, and churches.

Program 1

Children's groups include a group for pre-school children, K-2nd grade, 3rd through 5th grade, sixth through eighth grade, and ninth through twelfth grade. Adult groups are provided for loss of a spouse, loss of a child, death by suicide, and loss of other significant persons in the child's life. From time to time groups may be added, e.g. men's grief; teen boys/teen girl, 4-5 year olds. The agency also refers adults to other support groups that might better serve their needs.
