Charting Impact

Self-reported by organization

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

  1. What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goals for this upcoming school year and for school years to follow is to work with school administration and staff to reduce the achievement gap that exists in our school.

Our fundraising goal will be to maximize the employee contribution programs in which many of our school parents can participate but aren't yet aware. The goal is to work toward passive contributions to minimize the impact that active fundraising has on parent volunteers and staff members.
  2. What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategy for fundraising is in to increase awareness of employee giving programs by maintaining a presence and information table at all school events, by sending out literature about our program weekly to all students and parents and to continue to educate our parents and community about ways to give to the school.

Our strategy for addressing the achievement gap in our school is to meet with school administrators as well as staff, including our Parent Liaison, to develop and evaluate the best programs and ideas and focus our resources accordingly.
  3. What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a great parent volunteer community, but we lack significant involvement from communities of color. We have the potential for greater success if we are able to bring all of the Kenny Community into the discussion.
  4. How will they know if they are making progress?
In the past, Kenny was slated for closure. It was the revitalization of the school community and largely the participation of the Kenny Foundation that helped keep the school off the chopping block.
  5. What have and haven't they accomplished so far?
In the past few years, we have increased our parent volunteer numbers and increased our fundraising amounts earned. We continue to keep our costs low and strive to maximize the benefit our children get through our continued cooperation with the school administration and staff.
