Mission Statement

IITMAANA is a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization of former graduates and former faculty members (hereafter collectively referred to as the Alumni) of IIT Madras.

IITMAANA aims to engage in charitable activities that promote education, including the promotion of educational objectives of the Alumni, students, and faculty of IIT Madras.

IITMAANA aims to provide a forum for exchange and interaction between the Alumni of IIT Madras and the students, faculty, and friends of IIT Madras, fostering international friendship and understanding.

IITMAANA aims to provide counselling, guidance, and assistance to the Alumni of IIT Madras in their pursuit of advanced education and social assimilation.

IITMAANA has been providing need-based and merit-based scholarships to students of IIT Madras in the form of Travel Grants to attend and present at research conferences and summits. This allows the students to gain international exposure and help in their overall academic growth. IITMAANA also has been contributing to the infrastructure needs of IIT Madras as well as primary educational institutions that cater to students with financial disabilities.

IITMAANA Travel Grant

The IITMAANA Travel Grant program (the Program) aims to provide need-based travel grants to the students, researchers, and faculty of IIT Madras, to present their research and participate at internationally recognized technical conferences, workshops, and internship and exchange programs. Since its inception, the Program has benefitted more than 200 recipients enabling them to participate in international events in more than 40 countries. The Program is administered by IIT Madras Office of Alumni Affairs.

IITMAANA School Grant

The IITMAANA School Grant aims to provide need-based assistance to schools, with a special focus on schools in the vicinity of the IIT Madras campus, and schools run for the needy such as orphaned children and children with a single parent, children with disabilities. The Program was instituted in 2010 by IITMAANA.
