SCI://TECH

The SCI://TECH Exposition is the flagship program of Education for Tomorrow Alliance. It began as a partnership with the local schools to provide volunteer support to the local science fair, and now offers 14 competitions including an Elementary Science Festival, engineering design competitions (robotics), and science technical writing. The traditional junior and senior high science fairs remain a key component of SCI://TECH that encourages students to explore real-world questions that interest them through rigorous research, experimentation, summarizing of conclusions and practice of presentation skills. Each of the competitions offers learning beyond the classroom and teaches critical thinking skills that will enable students to thrive in any career field.

Student Internship Program

EfTA’s Student Internship Program (SIP) offers bright, motivated high school seniors hands-on learning opportunities in their desired career fields. SIP internships are designed to provide valuable work experiences for students who are just starting to explore career options. The program offers a first step toward furthering their education and figuring out what direction students want to take in life. In addition, the process of applying offers insights to the job search and introduces students to the value of networking and developing transferable skills that can eventually be included on a resume. Education for Tomorrow Alliance partners with about 50 dedicated employers each year to offer each student 80 hours of professional experience that has the potential to shape their career paths. EfTA seeks to give students hands-on experiences that help enrich and support leaders of tomorrow.

The Future Focus program is a classroom-based curriculum designed to promote positive decision making among junior high school students. Trained volunteer presenters offer interactive programming to help students realize that educational attainment today has lasting impacts on their options later in life. It is meant to empower students that they have control over their daily decisions, as small as completing their homework and attending class, which over time can keep them on track for high school graduation and beyond.
