Mission Statement

Without the efforts of our organization, it is doubtful that the restoration project would have ever been pursued. The organization provided the vision and manpower to research this project. Organization members, all non-paid volunteers, have worked closely with architects and historians to ensure the accuracy of the restoration. Volunteers have prepared all grant applications and continued with the project through its successful completion. The organization will continue to see that the building is properly preserved for future generations to enjoy.

Program 1

Programs and efforts to date have been focused on educating citizens of Wharton County about the wonderful asset our county has in its Victorian courthouse. Program presenters have enlightened and entertained listeners with the rich history of this wonderful building and shown them a multitude of photographs that reflect that history. An Internet website has been established to give interested people continuing images of the restoration project. A comprehensive history is also found on the site. That website is: www.whartoncountycourthouse.com
