STATEMENT FROM THE Executive Director

"Dear Library Family,

I am honored and excited to join the San José Public Library Foundation family. This is an exciting time for our incredible Library, and the Foundation that supports it. Together the collaboration of community partners, dedicated board members and friends has made our Foundation strong.

Today we stand at a crossroads, having built an amazing system of local libraries over the last fifteen years; we are opening the capstone of our system, the Village Square branch in the spring of 2016. After this, our focus will be to support the exciting and future-forming programs which the San José Public Library is now and will be providing.

Imagine programs that offer the opportunity to learn to read and code, improve math skills, learn a new language, and gain imperative job skills like interviewing and résumé preparation. It's all free at your local library through the magic of a library card!

The San José Public Library Foundation through the collective support of our family of supporters will work toward the future to make this happen. For the last fifteen years, you have made where we are today possible, and I am so grateful. Thank you. Now, let's make our future happen together.

With kindest regards and a grateful heart,

Lucia M. Calve
Executive Director
San José Public Library Foundation "
