Context Notes
Our client numbers surged during the pandemic. Increasing numbers is not a true reflection of our program's success, rather it was our ability to meet the needs for supplemental groceries.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to ensure that no individuals -- be they children, adults, or seniors -- go hungry in our communities.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Outreach: Our strategy to address food insecurity is to reach as many people as possible in the Moreno Valley and Cimarron communities through various means to advertise our services. These include posting on social media, providing post cards to area churches, schools and stores, and holding fund raisers at various locations in the community (grocery stores, library, banks and post offices).
Database Management: Clients must complete the state-required forms and are entered in our database. Volunteers drive to the address and integrate them into the Monday delivery routes. The number of grocery bags received depends on the number of people in the household.
Grant Writing: Writing grants to meet current demand and in anticipation of surges.
Responding to calls for initial, emergency groceries outside of Monday delivery routes.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Through our volunteers and community support, ALM Food Pantry has continually operated since 1998, serving clients facing food insecurity in the Moreno Valley and Cimarron communities.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Addressing food insecurity is an on-going program. We've not turned away one qualified client, even during the pandemic.
