Friends of the Farm at Hilltop, Inc., is a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to farming, preserving, conserving, promoting and enjoying Hilltop Farm as an educational resource for people of all ages.

Farm Fest 2015

Since 2003, Farm Fest has become an annual community event. Farm Fest is a family-oriented event where FOFAH creates an experience of farming life and conservation; past, present and future. Exhibits and demonstrations on dairy farming, wildlife, birds of prey and crafts for all ages. A children's barnyard area, live music, and games. In 2015, over 1000 people attended this great event at Hilltop Farm.

Annual Harvest Dinner & Auction

This is the annual fundraising event to celebrate our beautiful Hilltop Farm over dinner under a huge tent. Each year over 350 people enjoy a farm fresh dinner, where many of the ingredients are from local Partner Farmers and Producers. The farmstead feast is prepared by a local Chef. Event is BYOB and prior reservations are required. The Silent Auction features the works of local artisans, goods and services of local friends and businesses.
This event is held each year over Labor Day weekend.

National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. NPLD 2016 will take place on Saturday, September 24.

Pollinator Garden Program

A newly planned garden to be used as a demonstration garden for plants know as pollinators. These pollinator plants are a collection of perennial plants to attract bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

The Sunny Patch Kids is a program for young children with a focus on learning about and growing vegetables.

Composting Toilets

Composting toilets were installed in two locations on the property. The intent of the project was to reduce the dependence on chemical toilets and to explore the possibilities of composting at Hilltop Farm.  This project also has a secondary goal of a “one of a kind” educational tool in Suffield.

BIO

Kacy holds anMA in Information Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BA in Political Science from University of California at Sonoma. She was employed by Cigna (Connecticut General) as an IT Specialist and Project Manager until 2015. In semi-retirement , she enjoys reading and travel. She and her husbandTom have been willing volunteers for years at Farm Fest.
