Principal Officer

Ms. Dagmar Serota

BIO

Dagmar Serota founded Good Cents for Oakland in 2005 to inspire children to take an active role in their communities after a 20 year career in the financial services industry working in strategy and business analysis. Dagmar earned her B.S. from New York University and her M.B.A. from the Walter A. Haas School of Business.

STATEMENT FROM THE Principal Officer

"I started Good Cents for Oakland, because I want to engage Oakland's school children in helping their city.  With children who have enough, I want to raise awareness about the issues that affect others in our city.  For children living in need and understand the issues all too well, I want to teach them that they can do something about the problems they see - one penny (aka Good Cent) at a time."
