How does this organization make a difference?

Overview

Self-reported by organization

We have expanded our Outreach and Seminars on HIV and Health and Community by transferring direct programs to an online COMMUNITY TALK SHOW with specialized guests and topics.

The Outcome of the above has been a much wider audience and expansion of Topics and Guest Speakers via our Internet Radio Station, EAGLEradio.PRO as it went from only Local to now throughout the United States via the Web.

We have managed to operate at zero Salaries.

Charting Impact

Self-reported by organization

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

  1. What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our Goals are to continue to bring more Community Talk Shows that will require more basic Radio Equipment, be able to advertise more for a greater audience share (currently at 1,100 listeners monthly as of June 30, 2015) and to be self sufficient enough to move our operations to a business location.
  2. What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We have entered Agreements for Commercial runs on our Radio Station in exchange for Advertising and continued but expanded use of Social Media (Facebook) for Advertisers and to lure more listeners in. We also intend to use Podcasting to lure more listeners.
  3. What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Our Radio was created to fill our Loss of HIV Funding, and still continue our capability of producing Outreach and Seminars in the form of Community talk shows.

The CoFounder of Red Hispana Fl is trained and certified in Health Issues such as HIV and CEO and Station Manager of EAGLEradio.PRO is a DJ of 20 years well versed in conducting Seminars and Public Speaking as well as Music production and Radio Operations.
  4. How will they know if they are making progress?
We log in Radio Stats each month as well as Monthly Financials to Track our Progress. We know the Stats of Listeners and Locations. The Talk Shows are also rated by the Listeners.
  5. What have and haven't they accomplished so far?
We have accomplished creating a Funding Stream and Continuation of our Seminars and Outreach to our Communities as a counter measure to loss of HIV Funding in our area. We have remained open and viable and growing while other small Agencies have or are about to close.

We have yet to accomplish generating enough revenue to move to a formal business location and to reward our Staff with an Incentive Bonus as they are all Volunteers.

BIO

Non Profit Volunteer, paid a small bonus at year end based on radio station performance and fringe benefit of phone and music subscriptions.

STATEMENT FROM THE CEO

"With the advancement of HIV Medicines and funding cuts, we expanded our Mission to include other diseases and social issues to the GLBT, Youth and Elderly Communities. We lost our main funder, COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF BROWARD when the transferred funding from Independent Agencies to Ryan White Programs that only fund Ryan White Patients.

In 2012, I led the way into the future by creating an internet radio station http://EAGLEradio.PRO which features music and OVER THE RAINBOW COMMUNITY TALK SHOWS, which has enabled us to fund our work. By December 2015 we grew our audience from ZERO TO OVER 45,000 LISTENERS throughout the U.S. but many shows involve South Florida and/or Broward County Issues."

ORGANIZATIONAL DEMOGRAPHICS

In order to support nonprofits and gain valuable insight for the sector, GuideStar worked with D5—a five-year initiative to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in philanthropy—in creating a questionnaire. This section is a voluntary questionnaire that empowers organizations to share information on the demographics of who works in and leads organizations. To protect the identity of individuals, we do not display sexual orientation or disability information for organizations with fewer than 15 staff. Any values displayed in this section are percentages of the total number of individuals in each category (e.g. 20% of all Board members for X organization are female).
