Principal Officer

Bryden Sweeney-Taylor

BIO

Bryden Sweeney-Taylor was appointed executive director of African Leadership Foundation in June 2011. Bryden was previously the chief operating officer of Peer Health Exchange (PHE), a rapidly growing health education nonprofit based in San Francisco. Prior to joining PHE, Bryden worked as a field organizer for Grassroots Campaigns, Inc., recruiting, training, and organizing volunteers on environmental and political campaigns. As executive director, Bryden leads African Leadership Foundation's institutional advancement efforts in the US and oversees the Foundation's support systems and structures for young leaders in university outside the continent, including our annual Indaba--ALA's graduate conference and reunion--as well as our internship and careers program, which links ALA's young leaders to opportunities in Africa. Bryden attended Deep Springs College and graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a degree in folklore and mythology
