Mission Statement

The Millennial Light Library, founded in 2000, grew out of the need to address the dearth of resources available to the public through mainstream libraries regarding issues of pressing social and ecological concern. We collect specifically in the broad areas of sustainability and social transformation.

BIO

Rebekah Zablud Azen is founder and chair of the Millennial Library. Rebekah holds a masters degree in library and information science from Louisiana State University, obtained in 1990. She has worked primarily in tribal libraries but also in academic and special libraries. She is presently a news library consultant for the Santa Fe New Mexican newspaper. She has been involved with progressive causes for many years and believes that activism and librarianship belong together and are very important to societal well-being.
