Mission Statement

The Estes Park Nonprofit Resource Center exist to assist nonprofit organizations in the Estes Valley to achieve their goals. This is accomplished by making resources available, offering training workshops, and facilitating networking opportunities.

Self-reported by organization

Accomplishments: Hired first
employee, part time director position, June 2010. Started drafting policies and
procedures. Conducted six workshops on relevant topics for nonprofit
organizations.  Attendance exceeded expectations. Implemented earned
income (reasonable fees for workshops and consultations). Increased awareness
about the Nonprofit Resource Center and as a result receiving questions and
requests for assistance.  Presentations at local service clubs and
other organizations (Rotary, Kiwanis, Town of Estes Park) resulting in
excellent contacts. Established a list of nonprofits in the Estes Valley
(a work in progress). Partnerships developed with the Colorado Nonprofit
Association; Community Resource Center (CRC); Estes Valley Library; United Way
of Larimer County Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP); and Blacktie
Colorado.  Reviewed the strategic plan the board and stakeholders
drafted in 2007. In the process of updating the website and will include a blog
component. Recognized National Philanthropy Day November 2010, bringing
together nonprofits and philanthropists in Estes Park – first time for this
event.  Develop a plan for offering training workshops, 2011-2012.
Draft plan resource (fund) development.  Outline plans for nonprofit
networking opportunities. Networking: start with offering to all nonprofits and
eventually proceed to peer networks such as executive directors, board
presidents, etc.  All three of these will be part of the strategic
plan. 
Goals Work with nonprofit boards and staff toward governance
transformation.  Help nonprofits with knowledge and skill development
in fundraising; board recruitment; and sustainability.

Nonprofit capacity building

Offer training workshops and educational opportunities
to nonprofit staff, board members and volunteers that help to build capacity. Topics are based on assessment and trends.

training networking opportunities for nonprofits to learn from and share with
each other.

3.      Make
available resources for nonprofit through the library and website – resources that
are relevant and east to you. Resources
include online directories for grant searching.
